Marriage Retreat and 24 weeks

This weekend Jason and I went to a marriage retreat in New Braunfels. It was put on for T Bar M alumni and their spouses. T Bar M was a camp Jason went to as a kid and then "coached" at in college. It was really fun and we got to spend some good quality time together! We stayed in these cute individual cabin things that were really nice inside. On Saturday night we were supposed to go on a date so we went into Gruene, this little town next to New Braunfels. We went out to eat and walked around on the strip for a little bit. I posted some pictures below.

We also turned 24 weeks pregnant this weekend! I had my regular monthly appointment this past Tuesday and she said we were measuring perfectly and that Clara had a very strong heartbeat. We also recently decided that we are going to have Clara at St. Lukes hospital with a midwife (yes, there will be a doctor available of course) :) We are so excited with everything they do and this decision has definitely made the whole giving birth thing a little less scary!

23 weeks

This week has been sooooo wonderful. I am on spring break and it has been absolutely beautiful outside. I know Jason has probably been a little jealous. I am really not wanting to go back to work! It's crazy though to think we only have about 11 weeks of school left.

I think I started to feel Clara move this past weekend and throughout this week! It sure is unlike anything I've felt before. Sometimes I will just lay and "play" with her by shaking my belly a little bit to feel her react. Jason even got to feel her once!

I put some pictures up of two news items for the nursery. All we have left to get is the dresser. I don't want to show any of the decorations until everything is done though. Hopefully everything will be done by the showers in May!

And oh ya, 4 years ago today Jason and I "officially" started dating. :)

5 months!

We are five months now (or 22 weeks)! About 4 months to go! I can't believe that in another month I will be in my third trimester. This week I grew more than I have any other week, almost 3/4 of an inch! So I assume Clara is growing up a storm in there. She has reached at least the one pound mark now! :)

At 4:00 today we are leaving for the high school youth camp at Lake Tomahawk (near Livingston). It's not the best camp weather, but we're trying to stay positive and hoping the kids will still have fun and get a lot out of it. We will be back late Sunday night.

Jason found out this week that he will get to make another trip to Canada in April. He suggested that I come with him since I have days saved up for school, but I told him it's probably not smart to travel that far 2.5 months before the baby is due. He said he wouldn't mind having a Canadian baby. :)

21 weeks

We are 21 weeks now! It's crazy that after this next week I will be 5 months pregnant. Clara and I are definitely growing at a more noticeable rate now.

Something that was exciting this week was we purchased and set up Clara's crib. Jason did a wonderful job of course and it is absolutely beautiful. It is a convertible crib so it will eventually turn into a toddler bed and then a normal size bed. So she will have it for a long time! Hopefully she likes it :) I am in the process of picking out everything for the nursery. It's been so fun!
