Jesus and Coffee: Our New Life with Three

May 1st was an absolute gorgeous day outside. For some reason, that’s my main memory of that day (besides the fact that our little girl was born!). Our sweet Hannah Grace came into this world at 2:28 PM, weighing 8 pounds 4 ounces and was 19 inches long. We, of course, were instantly in love!

I guess third times a charm because I finally got to have the kind of labor and delivery I always wanted. I didn’t have to be hooked up or confined to anything! No “liquid hell” (aka Pitocin), no IV fluids or constant fetal monitoring. The fact that I could walk to the bathroom without it being a huge production (i.e. dragging the IV pole and having the monitors constantly slipping off me) was the most freeing feeling. Who knew going to the bathroom could feel so liberating. HAHA! And then, most importantly, our baby girl was perfectly healthy. The way everything went was really such a blessing. Thank you Lord!

People ask me all the time “what’s it like with 3?” My usual response is, “It’s CRAZY but fun.” You think you’ve got multi-tasking down with 2 and then, once another one comes along, it’s taken to a whole new level. HAHA. I couldn’t have asked for 2 sweeter big sisters. Clara and Ella absolutely adore her and want to “help” all the time. Apparently in 2-year-old-world, getting to throw a dirty diaper away in the Diaper Champ is a HUGE deal. Clara really is a “little mommy”, so naturally sweet and nurturing with her. Hannah has been very good to us too, sleeping and eating great. She's an absolute doll, and I can't stop kissing her or telling her how cute she is.

And since it’s Father’s day I have to brag about the father of our family. I seriously couldn’t ask for a better partner to parent with. Jason has to be the most selfless, hardworking, dedicated, loving husband and father I could ask to be married to. I’m amazed how he puts himself last every day. How he continually seeks to find ways to make mine and the girls’ days easier before he leaves for work. He loves his 3 sweeties and indulges my silliness (for example, me doing “tribal dances” with the girls to Lion King songs or my attempts to read Veggie Tale books in various worldwide accents).  I’m still not sure how I ended up with him. Thank goodness for God’s grace on me!

I’m pretty sure I will look back on this stage of life and think, “how the heck did we do that?” Or maybe we’ll hardly remember it because it will all be a blur. All I know is that Jesus and coffee get me through a lot of days. HAHA.

Despite the lack of sleep, crazy 2 year old tantrums, a 3 year old going on 13 and laundry that somehow quadruples by the hour, I’m loving this time. As crazy as that sounds. Or maybe I’m just starting to go crazy myself……    ;)

Leaving for the hospital

We got to deliver at the new Texas Children's Women's Pavilion. The rooms and views were beautiful!

Beach and Baby Room

This past weekend Jason and I went on our 7th year anniversary "getaway/baby moon." It was 36 hours of no-kid-bliss! haha! We really enjoyed our time and soaked in every moment of relaxation knowing the end is near (just kidding). We stayed in a condo we loved, got massages, ate and ate some more, and to top off our weekend, got some old fashioned pictures taken. It was hilarious, I felt like I was in junior high again (brought back my AstroWorld days). Jason also used his mad photography skills and took some pictures of me on the beach.

And finally, I took pictures of baby Hannah's room! I've been working on it bit by bit over the past few months and can officially say it's done now! I feel like the pictures don't do it justice. I just love being in her room and can't wait to show it to her. ;)

Now it's time to sit back, relax and wait.....and wait....and......

Hannah's Room

The little dresser with the lamp was my mom's from the 1960's. The set was then passed down to me when I was little and now it's Hannah's :)

A restored/painted dresser from the 1960's. I just love the work this lady does...

I got this chair when I was a baby. It was bright red and was my first "shabby chic" project for Hannah's room!

And last, but not least....

Oh yes
